Beyond Words On A Page
“Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:3-4
We can all agree that Yahweh, our God and Creator, is glorious and to be praised; He is vast and profound. So, does this mean His greatness is unsearchable, and is incomprehensible to man? Why should we seek, why search? We must look deeper and beyond the black ink on a white page.
We are called, as sons, to seek and to search the depths and vastness of our God and to press in to know Him through intimate relationship. He opens the door and extends the invitation so we may behold it all. This scripture is NOT telling us that the Father and His ways, His will, and all that He encompasses- His endless love, everlasting life, and eternal being are unsearchable, incomprehensible, and unable to be discovered and known- so don’t even bother. In His timing and at His invitation all is revealed to those who will seek Him. It is the responsibility of the son to discover and lean in, to accept the invitation.
“It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.” Proverbs 25:2
The Father’s Kingdom is ever increasing, and He wants us to desire to discover all the facets of Him. Consider creation. The universe is continually expanding- by the second it grows and increases. This is a reflection in the natural of what is continually being made available to us, by the Spirit, and that we are invited into. What was not accessible before is accessible now. What was hidden is being revealed. As we mature and grow in Christ, more of who He is is seen, heard, and discovered by those with a passion and zeal to know and honor the one true God. It is discovered and seen by those whose hearts are stayed on the Father. We then have the opportunity to declare it to the next generation so they may then stand on our shoulders and continue on, expanding the kingdom through the life they live in Him.
What will you do to lean into Him today? The possibilities are endless. Search, seek, knock, inquire, press in. Worship Him as you drive to work. Talk to Him as you prepare for your day. Meditate on Him. Listen to The Rock Podcast when you drive home. Read His word instead of watching tv. Talk to your children and tell of His greatness and listen as they do the same. Receive the invitation.
