The Cornerstone
“So this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken.’”
Isaiah 28:16
As a house in a time of building both naturally and spiritually, there is a very important piece that will play a crucial role in the process. The cornerstone. Our chief cornerstone, the Christ, is an important part of the building process in the life of the believer, and an ever-present peace in the ongoing salvation and the testimony of the gospel within us.
The value and significance of the cornerstone has been acknowledged throughout the ages. Having multiple functions, the cornerstone orients a building in a specific direction and marks a geographical location, and often marking a new era and is indicative of abundance and prosperity. It is the first stone laid with all other stones laid in reference to the first. Finally, cornerstones have been used to mark ownership and as a reminder of who the architect or builder was. The laying of a cornerstone was often a time of celebration and rejoicing.
When we allow the house to be built with Yahshua the Christ as a tested stone and precious cornerstone, the promise is sure. The one who believes will never be shaken, moved, nor forsaken. We can stand in sure confidence and assuredness that the foundation is solid, the walls are aligned, that every window is fit, and every door is balanced. Our direction will always be accurate, and the supply of heaven will flow in and through fluidly without obstruction or delay. When He is first and everything else is in alignment with Him we have no need to fear or fret because He is our reference point for all things after. For all those who come after, the cornerstone will be seen and evident as a mark on the timeline and reminder of who the architect and builder is.
My encouragement today, allow Him to be your chief cornerstone. Allow Him to orient you on your path so that the abundance, the supply, flows freely. May His mark upon you be evident and clear…. that He is the builder of the house.
