Give Grace, Receive Grace
Grace is something that the Father offers us abundantly and freely. As we begin to try to emulate the way that Jesus existed on the earth, we begin to realize that we must show others grace, just like our Father has done for us.
When I began navigating this, it just seemed to bring me turmoil instead of joy. I thought for sure that showing others grace would fill me up with overwhelming joy. Instead, I would sometimes cry because I couldn’t believe that I let the situation “slide” or go without addressing. It felt as if I were demonstrating a grace that they did NOT deserve. In the stillness of my response, I was left empty and weak and they probably felt justified and “right”.
Soon the Father began to show me two important things. First things first, maybe those people that I am showing grace to, need it. It’s not always just about me. I don’t have to justify their grace because I need to focus on my Kingdom assignment and Kingdom work is rarely made up of the easy things. Secondly, I needed to show myself grace for feeling overwhelmed as I learn to navigate this place.
I encourage you to show grace today. Remind yourself what grace means to Jesus. And when you begin to question what you have done and perhaps feel turmoil over it, like I did, show yourself some grace. Embrace the fullness of grace for others and for yourself.
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. (NLT) Titus 2:11
