While It Is Called Today

The Rock of Central Florida   -

“For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care. Today, if you hear His voice…” (Psalms 95:7)

“While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation…” {Heb 3:15)

As a body, we have been reading through the bible together and we recently read the book of Exodus. Most are familiar with how Moses was chosen to lead The Children of Israel out of the hands of the Egyptians, and, how Yahweh purposely hardened his heart causing him not to release the Children of Israel whenever Moses would ask. Now, this was a hard thing for me to comprehend when I was younger. I even had a sense of sympathy for Pharoah and wondered if what Yahweh had done to him was fair. Later, I understood better that the Father was all about relationship, trust, and establishing a faith in Him as the one true and living God.

Now, I know that it is easy to become judgmental of The Children of Israel as you read through the book of Exodus. How dare they, after all they had witnessed could they ever have any doubt or waiver in their faith? They dared to complain and murmur to Moses constantly. They threatened to turn around and go back to bondage. They even built a golden calf to worship because Moses was on the mount too long talking with Yahweh. What nerve?!

We are no different than they when we allow doubt and fear to hinder us from doing the will of Yahweh and pursuing our dreams. Honestly, we are more guilty than they. They only had Moses to translate the heart of Yahweh, but we actually have the very heart of Him living within us, Holy Spirit. We have to ask ourselves, “What is our rebellion or provocation?” Why
