Power In the Voice
As I reflect and look back over the last 42 years of my life, I think WOW! He took who I was and turned me into who I am. Yahweh had his hands on my life from the very moment of my first day of life. I will be honest and say that my upbringing was marked by being ignored and unwanted, my heart was damaged, and I did not know how to love or be loved, my future unknown to me and felt very uncertain.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
Yahweh placed people in my life to encourage me, support me, and to speak truth to be me, even if I was not ready to hear. What I did know, was that I was here on purpose, and nothing was going to change that. I knew that there was this amazing plan and I had choices that I needed to make. A line had been drawn in the sand. I could have walked the same path as my mother, or I could break the cycle and start a new journey.
Just when we think that there is not a hope or a future, we have the opportunity to declare it into existence knowing that the I AM has it all figured out. We have been given the authority to break the cycle, to change the direction of the wind. To overcome our past lineage and break the ties that bind us. Live in the moment, be in the present. The future may be unknown to us, but one thing that I do know is this; I am who am because of the I AM! I am where I am because of the I AM. Who has Yahweh placed in your life to be a voice to?
There is power in a friendship and there is power in your voce. Don’t take for granted the opportunities that have been set before you. You never know how your voice can change a life.
