Don’t Seek the Fruit. Pursue the Tree.
Matthew 12:38-39, “Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.”
Are there things in your life that you have been asking Yahweh for? As you go through your day, are you seeking certain outcomes? In other words, are you more concerned with what Yahweh can do as opposed to who He is? Yashua in the above passage knew the Pharisees’ intent was evil, so He was not inclined to indulge their request. Think about how many people followed Christ during the years he was in ministry. Now consider how many of these were just chasing a miracle and not a relationship with Yahweh.
Now ask yourself…Are you chasing miracles? I can tell you that this will always lead to disappointment. Yahweh is not some magician that seeks to “wow” a crowd with signs and wonders. Don’t seek the fruit. Pursue the tree… Go to the source. The fruit will come, and it will surpass your expectations!
